This course is designed for Level 1 Welding Inspectors, CSWIP welding inspectors (level 1,2&3, valid or expired) and API (510, 653, 570, valid or expired) and wish to directly apply for CWB L2 certification.
This course is inline with the requirements of CSA W178.2

THE COURSE INCLUDES
Access to the online portion of the course (CWB Learning Resources) for 90 days.
This platform will provide course content, course quizzes and a digital copy of the textbooks.

Participants will have access to download a transcript and certificate of attendance on successful completion of the course exams and final exam. Passing grade is 70%.
The in-class presentations are based on the CWB Level 2 Textbooks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for certification as a Level 2 welding inspector, candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a certified Level 1 welding inspector performing welding inspection under qualified supervision. The standard defines “Qualified Supervision” as: “The supervision of candidates by Level 2 or Level 3 personnel certified to this Standard, or by non-certified personnel who, in the opinion of the CWB, possess the knowledge, skills training, and experience required to perform such supervision.” The supervisor shall be able to be in contact in person or electronically with his attending with a reasonable delay in order to protect the integrity of the work of his attendee.
Those who hole CSWIP or API certifications may be eligible to sit in certifications exams:
1.
TWI welding inspector (CSWIP 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2 valid or expired) with 2 years of experience as certified welding inspector.
2.
API 510, 570 or 653 (valid or expired) with 3 years of experience as certified welding inspector.
CODE EXAMS
As part of the CWB Welding Inspectors exam, candidates must choose one code from the list below for their initial exam. Upon passing the initial exam and becoming certified as a CWB Welding Inspector, they may add additional code endorsements by taking subsequent exams.

RENEWALS
CWB Welding Inspectors must renew their certifications as follows:
Every 3 years, renew with Proof of Continuing Involvement.
Every 6 years, write a practical and reporting examination or complete 40 hours of recognized courses.
