Pressure Equipment Directive - 2nd -4th June 2025
Location:
Newton Aycliffe, DL5 6DS, United Kingdom
9am - 5pm each day,
PED Examination on final day
Pressure Equipment Directive - Including PED and PSSR
This course provides comprehensive coverage of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), a key legislative framework established by the European Union. It outlines the legal requirements governing pressurized systems installed and traded within the European Economic Area.
Since the PED is a legal document, it’s understandable that not all engineers are familiar with its details—after all, legal texts aren’t exactly the most exciting reads! However, it plays a vital role in defining the compliance standards essential for the safe installation of pressurized systems in Europe.
Our course equips you with the understanding needed to effectively engage with the PED, helping you apply critical thinking and engineering expertise to interpret its requirements and develop well-structured responses that align with regulatory standards.
To bring these concepts to life, we incorporate recent pressure equipment failures as practical examples of what to avoid. You’ll work through Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs), Assessment Procedures, and Documentation standards, ensuring you gain the skills necessary to demonstrate your business’s commitment to maintaining these critical regulatory obligations.
Course Overview
Developed for Engineers and Inspectors who are new to PED, by the end of this course you will be able to:
Understand the purpose and structure of EC Directives
Understand the definitions in the Pressure Equipment Directive
Understand the concept of Essential Safety Requirements (ESR’s), and be able to work through a real world example to apply what you have learned
Conduct a Product Classification, and be able to identify what documentation is required for each type
Understand what technical documentation is required
State the requirements for CE marking
Course Duration
2 Days - PED and PSSR
Prerequisites
There are no standard prerequisites for this course
